Youth

Studies have shown that more than 16% of children in public education have experienced some level of bullying. This problem causes an estimated 150,000 students to miss valuable instruction time in school because they are intimidated and live in fear of being ostracized. Being bullied can be detrimental to the psychosocial development of children and can really have a negative affect on their self-esteem; impeding them from realizing their full potential. Our youth program shows kids how to defend themselves without having to give a single punch or kick. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a self-defense system that allows those who practice it to defend themselves by using leverage to submit their opponents. Your child will not be taught how to punch or strike another person, they will learn how to react and defend themselves in a safe and efficient manner that minimizes their risk of injury and harm. Our youth program promotes non-violent conflict resolution and empowers your child to develop leadership skills as they also develop self-confidence, courage, responsibility and discipline. Our youth program is a great way to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for kids of any ages, shapes and sizes. Our youngest students gain self-esteem through athletic achievement and learn how to carry themselves better in situations that require them to deal with pressure. Professor Xavier has taken extra special consideration in designing a student-centered curriculum that seamlessly integrates conditioning and self-defense techniques into a well rounded physical and mental education that will greatly improve your child’s hand-eye coordination, motor dexterity, physical fitness and flexibility. Our youth program takes into consideration input from Texas certified public education teachers so that our student’s individual needs are met by incorporating activities for visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners alike.

The Little Wizards

Little Wizards, which is what we call our youth program members, represent the future of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Xavier first started his career as a world-class instructor by helping oversee the youth program at Gracie Humaita in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Because of this experience he has always recognized the importance of instilling positive attributes in our children from early on. All of our instructors and students are committed to helping the youngest members of our team develop into healthy, well-mannered people that apply what they learn at the LX Jiu-Jitsu academy to succeed in all facets of their lives. Our instructors will provide your child with a nurturing environment in which they will learn to improve on their discipline, character, patience and interpersonal skills. Little Wizards can be taught in a group format during our youth program classes or individually through our private lessons program.
